Interactive lessons for educating at home
A version of Maths Matters Online is available for home schooling and revision. It contains the full suite of 420 interactive lessons used in schools, covering all topics in mathematics at Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4 and the IGCSE Additional Maths syllabus. Maths Matters is suitable for all students, whether they just want to obtain Grade C at GCSE, are working for their A* grade or whether they are studying mathematics at AS level.
Lessons are divided into year groups and every lesson is levelled and accompanied by a lesson plan, for parents who wish to go through a topic with their children. Lessons have starter questions, objectives, key words, worked examples, clear diagrams and superb illustrations. A full set of virtual tools (pen, text, compasses, ruler, protractor and graph-plotting tools etc.) is available at all times and turn your PC or tablet into a mini interactive whiteboard. Interactive workshops allow students to take an investigative approach to problems: "What if I try to solve it this way...?" - well, try it and see! You can enter problems from text books or past examination papers and try to solve them. Full guidance is available in the workshops to show the correct solution and explain the correct method. There are thousands of questions, with fully-worked solutions, to test progress and show a correct method that would achieve full marks in examinations. Maths Matters runs on any computer (PC or Mac), tablet or mobile phone that is Flash enabled and is compatible with the Adobe Connect Classroom software. There is no installation required for users of Maths Matters Online, with the exception of the Adobe Flash Player. Use of tutorial content does not require continuous connection to the internet.
